Book 1: The Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck

22 02 2011

The first I’m going to be talking about is The Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck. I’ve seen this book many times on the shelf whenever I go to the bookstore, and I finally decided to picl it up and give it a try! Shall we start with the Synopsis?

“Passion. Fate. Loyalty.
Would you risk it all to change your destiny?
The last thing Kelsey Hayes thought she’d be doing this summer was trying to break a 300-year old Indian curse. With a mysterious white tiger named Ren. Halfway around the world.
But that’s exactly what happened.
Face-to-face with dark forces, spellbinding magic, and mystical worlds where nothing is what it seems, Kelsey risks everything to piece together an ancient prophecy that could break the curse forever.”

Sounds like your typical supernatural teenage love story, right? With all the vampires and werewolves stories out there, you’d think that there would be enough animal shape shifters out there, right? I for one am pretty tired of the vampire/werewolf trend that has grown tremendously since the hit franchise series Twilight hit the bookshelves. But there is something about tigers that made this book intriguing. That and the fact that the cover art is simply GORGEOUS!!!!

I know you’re not supposed to ‘judge a book by its cover’, but I feel the cover alone speaks for this book itself! The storyline seems cool from the synopsis. Its the typical boy meets girl, boy is under a curse, girl helps boy break curse, boy and girl fall in love. The End. But who knows? This book may surprise me.

Chapter 1 summary and comments will be up tomorrow sometime. Be on the lookout for all the chapters of Tiger’s Curse as I read The<BETWEEN>Lines!
